With the increasing sales of electric vehicles in Turkey, charging stations are also spreading. The number of green charging stations exceeded one-third of the total number of electric vehicle charging stations in Turkey by the end of January. According to EPDK data, the number of charging stations reached 6,058.
In Turkey, the number of charging stations continues to rise alongside electric vehicles. Companies holding the charging network operator license, as regulated by EPDK, can designate all or part of their charging stations as green charging stations for more environmentally friendly use. According to EPDK data, at the beginning of 2023, there were 1,719 charging stations nationwide, while by the end of January this year, this number had increased to 6,058, with the number of sockets reaching 13,160. Among these figures, the number of green charging stations exceeded one-third of the total, reaching 2,206.
Most stations are in Istanbul
EPDK’s website shares information about the number of stations, sockets, their locations, and pricing details in each city. According to this data, Istanbul has the most stations with 1,411, including 836 DC fast charging sockets and 2,752 AC charging sockets. In Ankara, there are 610 stations, 461 in Antalya, and 309 in Izmir.
