The need for energy is increasing, fossil fuels are running out day by day. Accordingly, the electric car market is one of the fastest-growing sectors.

Electric car sales in Turkey increased by 154 percent in the first half of this year compared to the same period of 2021, rising to 2,263. What worries consumers is the long charging times.

The low battery charging speed of electric cars is a serious problem faced by vehicle owners. However, thanks to quantum battery technology, this time will be reduced from 10 hours to 3 minutes.

“Quantum battery technology will positively affect the electric car market”

Turkey Electric and Hybrid Vehicles Association (TEHAD) President Berkan Bayram, “Charging time is a concern on the consumer side. What we are talking about is times that can be 3 minutes. We should enter quantum battery technology as R&D. But on the other hand, we should also think about new generation charging technologies.”

South Korean and Italian scientists are working on quantum battery technology that will reduce charging time. So how will this technology be reflected in the Turkish market?

Stating that serious progress will be made in charging times after April 2023 with the national automobile project, Bayram said, “On the consumer side, half hours and 45 minutes will no longer be discussed, so charging times between 5 and 10 minutes will be discussed. That’s when the Turkish electric car market will see a rapid increase.”
